Tagaytay trips wouldn’t be complete without a steaming hot bowl of bulalo!

Whenever me and my family goes to Tagaytay, one thing is non-negotiable. we HAVE to eat bulalo. And not just anywhere, but at our all-time favorite spot: Leslie’s Restaurant.

Leslie’s is known for serving some of the best bulalo that comforting Filipino soup made with beef shanks, bone marrow, and fresh vegetables. There’s just something about their rich, flavorful broth, fall-off-the-bone tender beef, and fresh Tagaytay breeze that makes every sip even better. But what truly sets it apart? The breathtaking view of Taal Lake and Volcano! We always make sure to dine in one of their kubo-style seating areas, making the experience extra cozy and special.

It’s more than just a meal it’s a tradition. Every time we visit, it feels like a mini getaway. The moment the steaming bowl of bulalo arrives, we already know we’re in for something amazing. We take turns scooping the flavorful broth, fighting over the bone marrow (the best part!), and pairing it with hot rice and dipping the tender meat in toyo with calamansi and sili. It’s comfort food at its finest.

But Leslie’s isn’t just about bulalo. Their menu is packed with other Filipino favorites like crispy pata, grilled shrimp, pinakbet, sinigang, and grilled fish. Their side dishes flavorful sauces, pickled vegetables, and fresh salad add the perfect balance to every meal.

Of course, they are also other great places worth to try!  If you're looking for a more budget-friendly option, Mahogany Market is the best option. Their bulalo is just as good, and they even serve free saba (banana) and crispy tawilis on the side! The vibe here is more laid-back, giving you that authentic local feel.

Another spot worth trying is Bulalo Point. It’s known for its generous servings and affordable prices. Their broth is extra beefy, and they serve it in huge bowls, perfect for sharing! It’s also open 24/7, so if you ever crave bulalo late at night, this is the place to go.

At the end of the day, Tagaytay and bulalo will always go hand in hand for us. And while there are many places to try, Leslie’s will always be our go-to for that perfect combo of delicious food, cozy kubo vibes, and a breathtaking Taal view.
