A Small Price for a Big Flavor
There’s something special about the food you buy from my
kapitbahay. It’s homemade, affordable, and somehow always hits the spot. One of
my all-time favorites? Big siomai for only ₱10! Yes, you read that right, just
ten pesos for a giant, juicy siomai packed with flavor. It’s the perfect snack,
a budget-friendly meal, and honestly, one of the best food finds in the
neighborhood.
What Makes It So Good?
1. Pure Ground Pork Goodness
This isn’t your ordinary siomai filled with extenders it’s
all meat! Every bite is soft, juicy, and full of that rich pork flavor. It’s
steamed to perfection, keeping all the juices inside, so you get that
satisfying bite every time.
2. The Perfect Saw-sawan
Of course, siomai isn’t complete without the ultimate trio
of condiments:
• Soy sauce for that salty
• Chili oil for a bit of heat (or a
lot, if you’re brave)
• Calamansi to add a zesty kick and balance everything out
Some people love drowning their siomai in sauce, while others like just a drizzle, how do you eat yours?
3. Best Paired with Rice
While siomai is usually a snack, this big siomai can easily be an ulam. Just add rice, pour some of that delicious saw-sawan on top, and you’ve got a full meal for just ₱20 or less. It’s simple, filling, and absolutely satisfying.
Why I Keep Coming Back for More
• It’s Affordable – Where else can you
get something this good for just ₱10?
• It’s Convenient – No need to cook or
go far; just drop by the kapitbahay
• It’s Delicious – The combination of juicy pork, flavorful sauce, and rice is simply unbeatable.
Final Bite: Don’t Sleep on Big Siomai!
Some of the best food isn’t found in fancy restaurants but in the small, local food stalls right in our neighborhood. Big siomai for ₱10 is proof that great food doesn’t have to be expensive. If you ever see a kapitbahay selling homemade siomai, don’t think twice try it, enjoy it, and maybe even order extra for later!
Would you eat big siomai as ulam?
