Cookies and Cream Ice Cream: A Magical Yet Simple Ice Cream Flavor

    If you love ice cream then this specific ice cream flavor must have gotten your attention at one point. When it comes to ice cream flavors there are some popular flavors that come to a person’s mind. Such as chocolate and vanilla, but the flavor that comes to my mind is none other than my favorite ice cream flavor, cookies and cream. But what makes this flavor of ice cream so good? What makes it so special?

    I’m pretty sure by now this ice cream flavor is known by a lot of people and loved by a lot of people. It is an ice cream flavor that has Oreo cookies mixed into vanilla. The flavor gained popularity in the 1990s when it became a staple in the ice cream aisle even to this very day. Cookies, specifically Oreos, and vanilla ice cream is for sure a winning recipe.

Why do I love cookies and cream?

    Cookies and cream just have the right combination of 2 different flavors that compliment each other so well. The sweet creaminess of the vanilla ice cream flavor accompanied with the chocolate goodness of the crushed Oreo cookies is just perfect. The smooth texture of vanilla accompanied by crunchy chocolate Oreo cookies makes it very irresistible and it is still by far my favorite ice cream flavor up to this very day.

    At the end of the day, it's ice cream, and for us in the Philippines where the temperatures are higher, Ice cream is a treat that anyone would go for on a hot sunny day. It is refreshing and gives us some freedom from the heat that we are accustomed to here in the Philippines. It gives us a moment to relax and uncoil, It gives us memories, It's ice cream, and you can't go wrong with ice cream. But cookies and cream will always be the one for me.
