A week of a San Roque Student
Written by Lance Unoh HernandezWe didn't do anything this week, it was simply another typical school day with two masses and a career week, it's not a bad thing, just saying. This week's special events were only for the masses.
Ash Wednesday, the first mass, marks the beginning of the Lenten season, which includes prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. For forty days straight, we must restrict ourselves to certain activities. For instance, we should strictly limit our diet to fish and refrain from eating meat products. You should also consume less food than you often do. You should also avoid drinking alcohol and smoke cigarettes or vape. Almsgiving is a practice of giving food or money to poor people, during the Lenten season, you should also be charitable and refrain from being selfish around other people. Since it demonstrates how you can sacrifice for Jesus Christ, you should be prepared to give what you have to people around you. The second mass is just a normal first Friday of the month mass. Following that mass, we received awards for the second quarter's achievers. Of course, on a typical day, I am among the achievers who receive an award. Following the awarding, all of the senior high school students gathered together in the San Roque church for a bibliarasal. After the mass, all of the students gather at the auditorium for the announcement of the career week, and after the announcement, they let us wander around the school to visit the stall of the different schools that we can enroll in in the future. However, I have already decided which college I want to attend. We then returned home and spent time with the love of my life. Even though we didn't do anything special, we had a great time walking to the park, eating some snacks, and talking about everything on our minds. Our companionship was enough, with each other is enough.
So, this is what happen to me during this chill but meaningful week.
